Eoin O’Donnell has been appointed managing director for Liverpool-based developer SPACE Developments.
With a career spanning over 23 years within the UK’s residential development industry, Eoin has been promoted to managing director of SPACE Developments having joined the company in September as commercial director.
SPACE Developments is part of the McInerney Group and a renowned city centre developer committed to creating stylish and contemporary residential schemes.
Eoin says: “I was first attracted to SPACE Developments by the fact that they carry out city centre development, which is an area of the industry which interests me greatly. I was ready for a new challenge, and wanted to be involved in this type of prestigious development.”
“Working as a freelance consultant for the company for seven months before being persuaded to take on the role of commercial director gave me great insight into the ethos of the company and indeed the entire McInerney Group; one which I’m extremely comfortable with. It may be the Irish connection, but I have never felt more ‘at home’ with a company.”
The father of two, originally from Dublin, has lived in Chester for the past 23 years. He started his career in Ireland in the construction industry as a quantity surveyor before moving to Chester and working for the Northern divisions for Redrow Homes, Miller Homes, Morris Homes, Taylor Woodrow and more recently David McClean Homes, the latter three as Commercial Director.
As managing director, Eoin’s goal is to boost turnover and profit by building a talented team that can take the company forward into the next decade by continuing to produce new and exciting places for people to live and work in the North West.
He says: “We have several exciting projects planned for 2007, two in the pipeline for Liverpool - one in the Baltic Triangle and a second on the edge of the business district, - and one planned for the Ancoats area of Manchester.
“SPACE Developments has had great success developing in Manchester and Liverpool to date and will continue to do so but we’re also looking to further regions in the North West and beyond to build the SPACE Development brand. Traditionally we’ve been very much focused on Liverpool and Manchester but 2007 will see us explore opportunities in other major cities and towns, like Warrington, Preston and Bolton.”
It has been a successful and progressive year for Space Developments having won Best Merseyside Development for its latest Liverpool project, Westminster Chambers, in The Daily Mail UK Property Awards 2006.
Westminster Chambers is now build-complete with 11 properties left to sell and SPACE Developments has completely sold out at its Manchester schemes, Thirty Strong and Limelight. Building on these 2006 successes, Eoin will lead the team to even greater achievements in 2007.
